K my Sansa E250 used to get stuck on the recovering database screen but i refresed it and installed a new frimware update and it worked fine for 10 minutes i, added new music on it and then it wouldnt even make it to the screen with the icons on it now it just stays at the scan disk screen and all it does is fade to a light blue and restart itself is there anyway to fix it or am i just screwed
You're not screwed... Just lock your sansa and then hold REC button when starting up your sansa. Connect your sansa to the computer. then a device called 16MB-FORMAT should be in My Computer. Put this file : "http://www.MegaShare.com/392319" onto that device. Now disconnect your sansa from your computer, and let the sansa do everything it needs to do. Then it will restart. Make sure you unlock it. After this your sansa should work fine.

1 put on hold and hold record button while u turn on (your sansa is now in recovery mode)
2 connect your sansa to your comp via usb cable a box should show up saying the firmware version
3 close the window and disconnect your sansa (it will restart)
if that doesnt fix your problem try this...
1 connect your sansa to comp via usb cable
2 right click start on windows desktop go to explore
3 scroll down to your sansa's drive rifght click it go to properties
4 go to tools tab and click "check now" under error checking will take awhile and will erase your memory on the sansa but it will probably work again
I had a e260 and i thought i might share this with you. They got recalled, because ofa software malfunction. That might be what is wrong with yours, even though it's a different one it seemed to me like they were still getting the bugs out beause i upgraded to the e280 and i have to take it back too for software problems...
