    I have the same problem as described. Compressor and fan seem OK. Freezer part is working OK, but I have to keep powering off/on to keep it that way. If I don't, it just switches off when it reaches its target temp., and starts to thaw.

Initially, pls check the:
  • thermostat and its setting for the fridge part;
  • check if the fan is spinning to draw cold air from the freezer towards the fridge portion;
  • check if any food stuff is blocking the fan/vent;
  • on instances where a large number food stuff has just been placed inside, it may take some time for the temp to go down;
  • see if you have a turbo cool and enable it.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a samsung SR-S2028cvw American style fridge freezer. The temperature on the dials are at the coolest but both the fridge and freezer are warming up to the warmest temperature before the motor kicks...

Try hoovering the cooling rad on the back of the fridge freezer, as this tend to clog up with dust and other matter, which reduces the cooling efficiency

American fridge/freezer - fridge stopped cooling, freezer side ok

Have you pulled out the refrigerator and cleaned or used a vacum cleaner to get out the dirt and dust off the back of the coils, or if the coils are underneath, you need to get an inexpensive appliance brush for fridge, and clean the coils under the fridge, pull off the panel on the front bottom of the fridge, get a flash light and look to see if the coils are covered in dust....may just need to vacum and use appliance brush underneath...this should be done at least one a year, you will notice your fridge running much better and cooling back to normal.......hope this helps......
