Shutting down after 2 min

Dear Sirs

I have recently replaced my projector's lamp after 1900 hours. I use my projector as a TV, so the lamp laster abou10 months.

I have followed the manual exactly and now my projector shuts off after 2 min (as on end of lamp life mode). If I switch of the mains for 10 sec and power up again, the projector is back to normal.

What did I do wrong? Should I repeat the proces? Is there a munual rest butten I shoul push?

Regards

I have the exact same problem, where I have replaced the lamp and it keeps turning off after a minute of being on. I have reset the timer, but the problem persists. What else could be causing this.

I have the same problem, but I have used my projector for less than 200 (two hundred)hrs. I have not changed the bulb or anything and the lamp timer in the user settings shows the lamp hours as 195. What else should I try??

Call panasonic-- they have extended the warranty on this issue up to 18 months, as it is a known problem with the sealant for the iris. If the sealant is not moving, the iris sticks and the projector goes into lockdown. Call this number and they will take care of your problem: 1-800-211-PANA (7262)

THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE DYNAMIC IRIS WHICH IS DEFECTIVE. IF YOU GO TO THE SELF CHECK MENU THE IRIS IS DISPLAYED IN RED. THE IRIS HAS TO BE EITHER REPLACED OR UPGRADED TO AN IRIS OF MODEL 200. THE PROJECTOR WILL RUN FOR A FEW HOURS MORE IF THE DYNAMIC IRIS SETTING IS SWITCHED OFF

There is a reported problem with the firmware. Panasonic repair center can fix, (i think for free).

Hi Jaco

You have to reset the lamp timer when you replace a light bulb on your Projector.

This can be done by going into the Menu and then go to either User1 or 2 ( you'll see a lot of the Projector's info on it ) Go to the lamp time and reset it.

Should do the trick !

WHY DOES MY HD OPTOMA DLP 70 TURN OFF AFTER FEW MINUTES?

If you have recently replaced the bulb you may need to reset the lamp counter in the projector menu.
If you have not replaced the bulb, the projector may be shutting down due to over-heating. Check that the projector is clear of as much dust and debris as possible.

We have recently fitted a new lamp. I followed the instructions "replacing the lamp uni" then the "resetting the Lamp Runtime" instructions. It worked perfectly for 19minutes, then the lamp turned off,...

I think thelamp is running hot and shutting off due to the thermal cut off. So try to cool the system with a forced fan cooling and see if the projecctor runs for more time. Also see if the filters have choked and is not ventillating to the lamp resulting in the heat buildup. I sincerely hope this could be the fault as in cold condition it had worked longer.I hope this helps. Good day

Projectors keeps shutting down after 20 - 30 seconds

reason for fan spinning at high speed after shutdown is to cool down the projector after it has been on
you will feel hot air from exhaust as this is taking the heat away from the lamp, where all the heat is generated
if it shuts down after 20 mins either the projector is blocked, maybe, a fan is not running, filter blocked, or the motherboard is now u/s

Mitsubishi HC900 Projector shuts down after 5 minutes.

You have 1 of 2 possible problems.

(1) You need a new lamp.

(2) You have an overheating problem.

Just a quick couple of notes about your projector. It is a DLP projector (not LCD) and as such the machine as no air filters to clean. It does have air intake and air exhaust grilles, but no air filters to clean. This next part comes directly from the owner' manual for your projector:

When the lamp operation time exceeds 2000 hours*1 *2, the projector automatically shuts off and can’t be used until the lamp is replaced and the lamp operation time is reset.

Your machine is designed to give visual warning messages at 1500 hours used, and 1900 hours used. Did you see any visual warning about lamp life over the past few months?

If you were experiencing an overheating problem, a "TEMPERATURE!!" message would flash up on the screen just before the unit shuts down. If there is no warning, you don't have a heat problem.

If you have a replacement lamp available, install it and reset the lmap hours according to your user manual. If you don't have the manual, google it on the web (it available).
