Have you connected the audio cable from the PC soundcard to your monitor?

That's what I thought, and there are no speakers on it either but I figured you may have a variant on the normal.

Ok you will need a set of speakers to attach to your computer. They will plug into the soundcard at the back and will have an icon that will look like a speaker.

Your last monitor may have had the speakers built in.

Is heating up very very fast

You must remove the rear covers and see the section that heats up. If this is the driver then check if any electrolytics have leaked and so caused the change in circuit values.
If so clean the board and reset. Also if the heat tends to RUN OFF then it can be possible fault in the DRIVE of the component that heats.

Until this morning, my screen has worked fine, but today I booted up the computer and the resolution has gone super strange. No matter what I try it won't go back to how it was. Any ideas?

Looks like the graphic driver setting has gone crazy. The simple solution is - update / re-install your ATI or NVidia graphic driver and things will return back to normal.

Also do a virus scan, just in case to see if any malware or virus has seiged your system.

The monitor color has changed showing everything without the red tints or hues

Inspect all the pins at both end of the video cable and make sure they are seated properly.
You can also try it with another PC to make sure it is not video card problem.
Please leave rating if it helps.

Monitor turn on button is stuck

The monitor screen is black can be caused by bad caps in the power supply, bad inverter circuits, or worst will be bad lamps, you need to open it up and look at the power supply for bad caps first, look for caps with bulging top or bottom seal and then report back so we can guide you further, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
