Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

2 Answers

I have just purchased A Panasonic Home theatre system Recordable DVD model SC-RT 30 upon setting it up and following the instructions, the remote will not go into the functions mode so as to enable me to use the settings, all that I get is DVD 3 showing no matter what I press on the remote, and seems to be locked on this, however it will go to channel BBC One but no others,I cannot get back to factory settings because of not being able to get Functions open the first time I was setting up it showed Functions and was able to tune in the TV stations

Hi ttemmeg,

With the indulgence of s4u311...

Based on your post and subsequent comment, I am tempted to assume that your SC-RT 30 is somehow locked. You may need to do a full hard reset which is done by simply unplugging the unit from the mains for a couple of hours (overnight preferably). Thereafter pls try and you may have to do the initial set-up again.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How and where can i get a new panasonic dvd for my home theather system. model number sc-pt660. the disk changer does not open and close.

Considering that this unit comes as a bundle it wouldnt be profitable for stores to carry the parts seperatly. The best bet here would be if it still is within the 30 return policy then to take it back to the store you purchased it from to swap out for another. Since Im sure this isnt the case or you would have already done this you can try to save a dime by searching ebay for part systems and repairing or replacing the problem part in your tray (specifically being the tray motor). Theres plenty of tutorials for similar products found on DIY.com. Heres a link...

Is there a way to unlock my panasonic scpt660 Five-DVD Home Theater System? please help.

The following is what "Panasonic" recommends:
While stopped and “DVD/CD” is the source, press and hold [∫] (Stop) on the main unit and [S10]
on the remote control until “INITIALIZED” disappears from the TV. Turn the unit off and on again.
All settings will return to the default values.
(This does not work during program and random modes, or when setup menu or START menu is
displayed.)
You can access this PDF at www.static.tigerdirect.com/pdf/panaconic-SC-PT660-manual.pdf
Scribd.com suggests the following: Open the dvd drawer, press 9,8,1,7 on the remote. Press enter until it shows region 9 then press RETURN.
Hope this helped!

Region unlock for Panasonic SC-PT560 home theatre

Try http://www.dcevolution.net/panasonic/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=54

Read up on the generic panasonic region free IR code.
You will need a PocketPc/Palm/PSP/Laptop with enabled IR. or something similar. Worth a try.

Ghosting of picture from a Panasonic home cinema system

There must be a fault in the screening of the internal wiring to the scart outlet in the home theatre system. I simply changed the way the player was connected to the TV and the interference disappeared:-

1.) I used the RCA video outlet instead of the scart lead. Picture quality was not compromised. FYI the Panasonic Plasma TV I have has only RGB video input sockets at the back, so I used a scart to RCA adaptor to overcome this problem of connecting old technology to new.

2.) The surround sound when playing DVDs is generated directly from the home theatre system so there was no need to connect the audio from the home theatre system to the TV

3.) I used a pair of RCA leads to connect the "audio out" from the TV to the "audio in"on the home theatre system to provide the option of TV sound through the home theatre system.

I purchased a Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK and connected it per instructions. I was able to do the Intitial Setup, and program the Remote to recognize the TV, but now I can NOT get the Remote Programed! I follow...

The remote lost connection with DVD set. Push OK and hold while you Push #1. This will reset the remote. Connection instructions with set are wrong! After re-wiring, everything works great! I had to call Panasonic and sit on hold, but they were very nice.
