My quosmio F10 sounds like it is booting up when first switched on but nothing is displayed on the screen. The screen is completely black. I can insert a disc into the drive and it registers, but again the screen remains black. Any ideas?

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

My Toshiba Quasimo has red vertical lines running down the screen and it will only start up in SAFE MODE. I've been told by several people that its the motherboard graphics card. Is this the case and if so...

Plug the computer into an external monitor. If the picture is normal the screen on the laptop needs replacing. If there are lines on the external monitor then its the motherboard.
