You can try the free software from microsoft called VIRTUAL PC
I have used this on my vista home premium laptop and it works great and the best thing is that you do not have to repartition your hard disk and you can even use your virtual hard drive on more than one computer ( if puters are close to the same specs) you will need a license for your xp install as if you installed it on another puter. you can make a copy of your complete install save it to a dvd and when you mess up something on your virtual pc just delete it and restore it in 5 minutes or lessoff your copied hd. great if you want to really dig into your OS installing xp is a snap once you install virtual pc and configure a virtual pc. If you have less than vista ultimate the installer may warn you that it may not work correctly but I have had no issues with it. VMWARE also makes a virtual pc client.

You'll probably find this website most useful. This website was designed for users who want to dualboot that already have XP on their machine. There is a link to a how-to for users who already have Vista installed and want XP also. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Describe your acer aspire 7735ZG drivers Problem drivers problem before with Vista now with XP Pro i could not load the right drivers still have problems after one year buying the laptop please let give me...

If you installed the customized(!) version of Windows that ACER supplies with each new ACER computer, namely Windows Vista Home Premium, you should have all of the correct device-drivers.

If you "down-graded" from that version of Windows to Windows XP, and some of the device-drivers are "missing", then I recommend that you reinstall Windows Vista, or purchase an "upgrade" to Windows 7.

You might try to access the manufacturer's web-site, via: http://www.Acer.com
to see if they support "down-grading" to Windows XP, and if they supply the needed device-drivers.

But, your BEST solution is to reinstall Windows Vista, and be sure to apply "Service Pack 2" to Vista, to bring it up-to-date.

I want to take my acer 3690 back to when i bought it

There is no way to roll back from Vista to XP. If you still have an XP CD Key you can re-install using a windows disk of the same type using your code. All the drivers should be downloaded first to a CD from the manufacturers web site. Plus any data you would like to keep.

Back to get the original vista version

Well, with any amount of luck, when you installed xp you didn't erase the recovery partition. Just boot into the recovery partition. Some laptops will let you have that option on a regular boot.

Of course, if you have the vista cd, just boot with that. You can download a free vista recovery cd here:
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

If that doesn't work, try to download easyBCD and hope that your vista partition shows up in xp:

Seems like you need todo a fresh installation of windows, either Xp or Vista to get rid of the issues you have now, after that you need the drivers for the laptop

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5720.html

even though it says vista, if the driver name has XP32 or XP64 in the end it means the driver will also work with XP

If you want both operting systems on your drive, go to control panel. Select administrative tools. Select computer management.

Select storage

Select disk management.

This is the area where you can create a partition to an existing hard drive. Mave sure there is plenty of available space on your C drive to create another partition

Acer Aspire 5050 Won't Boot.

Your problem could be windows vista isnot installed properly
i assume in the beginning, your laptop come with windows xp.
if you want to go back to windows xp, you can still use alt+f10, as long as you don't delete the recover partition.
Just boot and press Alt+F10, it'll give you recover screen.

MY VISTA WINDOWS WONT LOAD

Okay, I think I can help you but I need some more information. I'm assuming your Acer laptop currently has a version of Windows XP installed, yes? And Acer gave you a CD to upgrade your OS to a version of Windows Vista?

And when you mean that you go to your BIOS to access the CD, I'm assuming that you are talking about the boot options menu (selecting the cd drive vs the hard drive or floppy drive or what not) correct?

When you select the CD drive to boot from, what exactly happens? Do you get any error message? Does the computer turn off? Does it appear to try to load from the CD and then switch to your hard drive instead (and load your existing operating system)?
