Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook
I bought this new laptop last December 2007. At first, I encountered problem connecting to internet. I returned the unit to the store and the technician only do system restore. Now, i can already connect to the internet but another problem came. Intermittent blue and white screen and sometimes screen becomes pink and then this unit hung up. I then returned to the store thinking that there might me other solution for this. They pull-out the unit bringing back to Acer Service center for three long weeks. After this, same problem occured and bring back again the unit to the store where I bought this unit. They told me they will pull-out again this laptop for repair! They told me that Acer corrected the problem but why still this keeps on occuring. Somebody, help please!
You should be dealing with Acer directly, not the store. It's under warranty and it's their problem, not yours or the store you bought it at. Call Acer support (they don't even publish their support telephone number) and demand to talk with a supervisor. The supervisor should arrange for fixing it. You have a lousy machine, and they need to fix it. Acer customer support is 800 816-2237, 8 to 5:30

For those who bought the laptop w/o operating system, just a format it with either Vista ir XP (preferably Vista).
Check if the laptop came with an Acer Resource CD. This contains all the drivers you need after a fresh install of WIndows.
And for the record: most Aspire 4715z's carry a Broadcom WiFi card, not Atheros.

Gud day sir/mam. I am buddy from the philippines and last 2 weeks ago, i bought may notebook(acer 4715Z) the store where i purchase my unit from didnt informed me that my notebook dont have a 'empowering technology software' installed and i was after that feature cause i know that, that feature can help me alot and protect my files. they sold the unit without the operating system of acer with empowering technology.
my problem now is how to avail of the feature that was supposed to be included when i bought the said computer.
please help me. thank you very much
