Yankeegurl, Thanks for your help. I found a manual and downloaded it. I will look into your suggestions but it may take me a little while. Off hand, do you know what the best resource is for parts if I need to replace the ballast? Thanks again

Thanks for using FixYa. This issue can happen due to a faulty light engine or due to a a faulty DLP Lamp. However, it can be an issue with the video driver card of your Card. I'll suggest to use a DVD player and check if the tint is still there. If the tint disappears then its an issue with the video driver card.
However, if it doesn't correct the issue its either a DLP Lamp or a faulty light engine.
Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour
(this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before
you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages
even when it is in OFF condition. Before performing any repairs i'll suggest you to try and reset the TV by unplugging it for 8-10 hours.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
I would first suggest that you spend $19.00 for the schematic and service manual for this device. In the service manual you will see the factory approved instructions on how to remove the light engine. This is the best course of action, because even though some here can give you excellent instructions, the warranty on the parts might be voided if you install incorrectly. In addition if you have the service manual it can guide you through steps that might be left out with secondhand guidance.
A good sight to get schematics frrom is http://www.servicemanuals.net and http://www.manualsparadise.com
Push device and Menu in on the front panel together and hold for 8 seconds and see if the led blinks a two digit code. As it may be the lamp or quite possibly the Power PWB capacitors if it blink a 3 4 code.
Google Toshiba 52HM95 Service Manual. There is a site that will download it to you for $11.99. However, the section about removing the light engine is not very good. I tried it with mine and could only get the engine out a couple of inches. It would get caught on some of the wiring where I couldn't find a plug to unplug it. Sorry, but this is a tough one.
