Question about Acer AL2423W LCD Monitor

AL2423W flashes 'No Signal' and turns off and on

My monitor turns on and off and the hard drive is still on. It will be on and then a grey box with 'No signal' appears, which I can't move to the side and then about a minute later the monitor shuts off for a couple seconds and then returns with everything still on the page. In fact I can still type away whilst the monitor turns off. My monitor is just on a month old. I have no other computer to test the monitor on.

    The problem seems to be intermittent. It will work fine for a couple of months, then continuously flash the "No Signal" error every two or three minutes, followed by going dark and returning correctly. I have tried new drivers, rebooting, etc. but nothing changes. Then, mysteriously, the monitor will work correctly for another month or so, only to start with the No Signal messate again. In all cases, the display is working, but the No Signal box covers the most important real estate - dead center of the monitor.

    I am having the same intermittent problem. If I connect the monitor to my other PC running Windows XP then it does not happen. Alternativley if I put my other monitor on the acer computer then I have no issues either. Surely it has to be an interface or software issue between the Acer PC and the Acer Monitor.

    I have the same problem very very frustrating, you would expect a level of quality from a known brand not this.

Hi Guys,
This is a common problem with this monitor but I have a fix. Sounds simple but try it it works. Turn your monitor off, then turn it off at the wall, turn your monitor back on to drain any stored power, now turn it back on at the wall and fire the pc up and see how you go.

Call the Acer tech desk, or visit their website, they will be able to swap your monitor for another one. Your problem is most likely a failing internal video card (inside the monitor, not your PC)

Before that, check the cables are properly connected to both your PC's video card and to the monitors input. Also make sure they are screwed into place, not just sitting there.

Monitor stand screws

More likely to be metric M4 screws, 1/2" will more likely to be long enough.

Hard drive is dead or the signal from the hard drive is not being read by the ide controller. I'm working on a MacBook 13 inch right now with the same issue. I had a spare hard drive and a windows Vista disc, so I installed the hard drive and inserted the vista install disc and the laptop loaded and installed Vista on the Mac with no issues. I took the hard drive from the Mac and attached an adapter to it and ran it through a usb on another laptop and the laptop could not read the files on the, the drive was bad.

If you get this issue frequently and it gets resolved, the most likely cause is loose cable connection from the monitor to your system.

This message means that your monitor is not getting any input from your computer. The other possible cause could be a loose video card on your computer.

Every few minutes brings up box 'No Signal'. Sometimes when powering on ACER logo thing takes a few minutes to disappear.

I have a Acer moniter too. Seems like you have a loose VGA cable or not enough power going into the video card

i had this happen to me and it was the video driver that went out, if you have or r using the video slot or monitor slot already on the motherboard you can get a video card to put in a slot on the mother board and it should solve the problem....hope it helps
