MINE IS DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING AND YES IT IS CHEAPER TO REPLACE IT WITH A CUSTOM STEREO. I CANT BELIEVE FORD WON'T FIX IT EITHER, MINE IS IN 2006 MUSTANG
