Vertex programming problems via USB

Ive tried to program a vertex VX-426 and VX-2200 2-way radios using correct leads/interface box and software using 3 different computers using AMD processors but is reluctant to upload/download.Ive tried a few Intel based computers but dont have any problems. Is there a problem with USB config. with AMD based computers? Is there a solution to my problem that I can try on my Acer (AMD) laptop? Thanks,

One radio at a time.
VX-426
use the USB cable and plug into pc, go to device manager and find that, renumber the port to port 3, open your config in the software and select port 3 as well.
Software CE91F ver 1.02 will do all you need to do upload and download.
also if your using windows 7, right click the software icon and in the compatability tab, select windows XP service pack 3...........:)

This probably doesn't help, but sometimes a much slower (older) computer will work where a faster (newer) will not. The Motorola's are notorious for this. Others, too. USB is USB, a standard--so that's not your issue.

Nice commercial quality radio. You will need a commercial radio shop to program it. Otherwise you need the particular programming cable and software for that radio to do the job. The fact that you are asking this means that it more than likely it is beyond your area of expertise. If you searched the web for programming software and also programming cable you might succeed . Otherwise order both from Vertex USA, www.vertex.com. Much easier to go to a shop, BTW you need a valid FCC business or GMRS radio license to transmit.

Low power on vx-3200

No, they are limited to 5 watts and will not go into the Amateur band. Modification of those radios to other uses is illegal.

Programming vertex standard 160

what version software is the CE44, version 1.0, 1.08 or 2.0 ?
remember alot of the software out there for vertex is regulated for dealers only to download frequencies, uploading is no problems, read as much as you like.
also
if your connected via usb with port 1 or 2, then move to number 3 or number 5 and rename the port to number 3 :) then try it

Problem with Vertex VX-820

Try "reading" the radio before programming it. It sounds like the programming software is using the settings from one radio to write to another. It's highly probable that the firmware is different on the two radios.

It's always a good idea to "read" a radio befor trying to 'write' to it..
