First make sure that the game supports joysticks. Most shoot em up games do not support joysticks, just gamepads and / or mouse and keyboard...

    Also make sure you have installed the software for your joystick, through which you can programme the buttons.

    You can find the software at the Logitech website.

Logitech attack 3 joy stick does not work in my xp

The joystick should come with a USB cable to connect to the computer. Once you have connected the joystick to the computer go to your control panel and click on the Printers and Other Hardware. Next you can click on Game Controllers, next you click on add and click on how many buttons there on the joystick (Example: 4 buttons joystick w/throttle). Once you have completed these steps you want to click on the controller then click on properties to give your joytick a test run before you play a game you have.
I hope this information can help you and hope you enjoy your games that you use with your joystick.

Can I use the joystick as a mouse?

Yes I also have the logitech attack 3 joystick and I found a very easy to use program. Go to http://www.tucows.com/preview/292788 and download the program. Then follow the instructions. Before you start the program, make sure that your joystick is plugged in. Then, pick the last joystick on the drop down menu on the main menu of the program. There you go! When you are done, just go to the bottom right corner of your computer screen, and right click on the picture that looks like a video game controller. Then click on exit.

Dont know how to work

Go to Start->Control Panel
Go to Game Controllers
Your joystick should show up in the list. Doubleclick it.
A new window should pop up showing you what buttons are being pressed. Press the buttons on your joystick and move around the stick to test it.
