To enter or edit a speed dial number on the Uniden D1788, go to PHONE BOOK (the book icon), when SELECT appears use the up/down arrows to select the previously entered phone book name, press MENU/SELECT (EDIT appears), press MENU/SELECT (EDIT NAME appears), press MENU/SELECT (EDIT NUMBER appears), press MENU/SELECT (SPEED DIAL - XXXXX) appears. Now, to assign a speed dail number, use the up/down arrows to select the desired speed dial number (Expl: SPD2) and then press MENU/SELECT to save it. The selections are SPD0 to SPD9 and also NO SELECTION to remove an existing speed dial number. You can also assign a speed dial number that's already used to a different phone book name. It will remove it from the old name and reassign it to the new name. Use the above procedure to assign a speed dial number to a new phone book entry when SPEED DIAL appears.
ou can save up to 8 phone numbers in your speed dial book. The speed dial keys go from 2 to 9. When you place a call, our system prompts you to "enter the phone number you wish to dial". You just press the appropriate speed dial key followed by the pound sign (#) and your call goes through. No long numbers to enter any more!
If you set a speed dial for our access number on your phone machine, you have to press three keys only to complete a dial - as easy as "1-2#"! That's it!
For example, you can set your parents' phone number as speed dial key 2 and your friend's number as key 3. After dialing the access number from your phone, you will press 2 then # to reach your parents, or press 3# to reach your friend. Nothing could be easier! Speed Dial set up Instructions: Dial the access number, wait for prompt. Enter PIN number, wait for prompt. Dial: "#" "2" "#" [a speed dial number: 1-9] "#" [destination number] "#". The system will confirm the number. Example: [#] [2] [#] [5] [#] [011-888-88-88-88-88] [#] Use Speed Dial: Dial the access number, wait for prompt. Enter PIN number, wait for prompt. Dial: [speed dial key (1-9)] "#" Hope this will help to solve the problem....
if you already have contacts in your phone book and you have follow the set up info given...its just like retrieving your voice mail you normally would press the number "1" key...lets give it a test run press the number 5 key down for a second or two and release...it should be dialing whoever is in the the #5 spot...you just place your first speed dial....try it again lets call that number 9 ...note you can always change the positions (callers) in your speed dial..just simply go to the phone book to who you want to replace (eg.you want replace Debbie #4, go to Sam... options/speed dial/ #4 this will over ride who is in that position)
Hi, I found a way to get Speed Dial on the Eternity or Ultra Touch . As follows: [most of this from Phonebook/More/Settings/1 ]
1. Copy all address book entries from Sim to Phone Memory. 2. Delete all Sim Address book entries. 3. Switch Address book source to Sim. 3. Re-enter up to 99 speed dial entries in Sim, in the exact order you want them to be assigned to speed dial. 4. Switch Address book source back to Phone Memory.
From now on all numbers on the Sim will be in Speed Dial and you will view the address book from phone memory. Of course any number can be in both places.
Now to speed dial just enter 1#, 2# etc for any number in the Sim Address book. You will get to view and confirm the entry and then dial. In a way this is even better then the speed dial functions on older Samsungs, as the preview before dialing ensures you have the right speed dial entry.
I think it works fine. dk
