Do you mean the sims 1 or 2?

well, you can run either one of them in compatibility mode, rightclick the exe or shortcut, press options, press compatibility (if i'm right, my pc is in another language) and choose windows XP service pack 2

good luck

oh yeah, maybe it's a good idea (in the same screen) to disable visual styles and enable run as administrator

Have you got the latest patch for the game? Try downloading and installing it if you haven't.

You can also try:

Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility

Then select your hard drive on the left and click "Repair Disk Permissions"

Hope this helps!

I bought a used Sims 3 game from eBay, and it says my serial code is already used. How can i get a new one?

It would seem the previous owner didn't uninstall the game or else the install limit doesn't count uninstalls. Here are some possible solutions:

1: Ask the seller to make sure he uninstalled the game
2: Ask the game producer to allow you to install it after explaining your situation
3: If all else fails, you can download a patch that disables the install limit, or else download a hacked version of the game. You paid for a legitimate copy, so you deserve to be able to play it.

I have lost my sims 3 and sims 3 ambitions serial number I have no clue how to get a new one or to restore it please help

Hello.
If the game is currently installed on a computer you can find the serial numbers within the windows registry. If you choose to do this just be very careful to only click on the needed items and folders.
If you have windows XP click start, then click run. Type in regedit and press enter.
For windows vista and windows 7 click the windows icon in the bottom left and in the search bar type in regedit and press enter.
Double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Double click on Software
Double click on Electronic Arts
Double click on EA Games
Double click on Sims
Double click on Sims 3
Click on ergc
Under data in the column that comes up your serial key should be listed.

When i installing the sims 3 it shows the error ''this product requires a installed copy of sims 3'' what can i do?

Hi!

Did you check the files you are installing. This could just be a patch file and not the software program for this game.

Post back the details of the file you are installing.
Let me know.

Blue error screen keeps appearing

This wouldn't really be a Dell problem.
I was reading some reviews on FT and AL and a number of people have complained about it being really "buggy".
It's that software that is causing the problem.
However, there are hundreds of different groups about different Sims games.

I would uninstall the Sims stuff, and explore the Sims support groups. You may also want to contact EA Games (the makes of the software, and describe your problem to them to see if they have any patches or work arounds for that install (that software on that computer). There are a number of times, that certain computers runs specific software for video drivers, or sounds drivers that conflicts with different softwares.
Once you have talked to them, and obtained any patches, then reinstall the software, and the patches, and go from there.
