Burner gets hot even when not turned on

This is the front dual burner, if we use it it will not cool down, seems like it is still on but the switch shows off. been off for 3 hours but still very hot. can I disconnect the switch until I can have this fixed.

same problem... anyone with different opinion of fixing this issue, also burners just turn up from low to very high while cooking something for long periods

sound like you have a shorted element, it will stay hot but not high heat hot (glowing) red, other posibility is bad infinate control switch that switch could be bad
