I have the same problem, it blinks twice. I just got this TV from someone not to long ago, and I looked in the back of it to check for dust and it looks like Iraq back there. So I took the back off, dusted it like crazy with an electronics duster, still nothing. Does anyone know what 2 blinks equal to?

Sony kp-57ws500 flashes blue, green, red then turns off

Re-insering the flyback wire is usually very easy. Push in and give a slght turn and check to see if grabbed. It sounds as if there is more issues than flyback wire. TV should turn on without one crt connected

Let me know model and brand of TV if its other then Sony KP-46WT510 and also count red standby light flashes as there would be long pause between blinks.

Sony wega kp51 turns on for 3 secs than off w/ blinking red light

The flashes are fault codes. It means your system is faulty. If it is intermittent then it is more than likely a dust issue. Buy an air duster, spray out the back and restart. Should be fine

If it continues to play up then it will be a repair job

Green flashes then tv turns off

or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
