I suspect that when you connected the Hardware (the Modem) you did not install the drivers and/or did not re-enter the settings that your ISP gave you.
Contact your ISP's Help desk. These usually run 18 or 24/7 to answer questions just like this. They can run through a series of questions and supply settings that will get you back onto the Internet all while you are on the phone.
