You need a program, like nero. if that doesn't work then put a DVD in the drive & see if the computer picks it up in the my computer. the first thing that goes in a CD/DVD-RW drive is the DVD heads, thats if your drive is a CD/DVD-RW. Have a look on the front of the drive tray, if it say CD-RW DVD ROM then it doesn't burn DVD's it only plays them.
cd-r80 are for music. Your best option is to buy a program like nero. I assume you are just dragging and dropping files to burn them right now. dvd's are more meant for backing up data or making movies because they hold a lot more data then a cd. Are you able to burn disc's at all? Just like all things involved with computers it can get complicated real quick.I hope this helps a little and if you have more questions let me know Thanks, Lee
hi, toshiba computers commonly used tool is called burnt record now, it works properly, that you get at the start + all programs + sonic + record now, try using this tool, if the fault persists, you should have problems with your unit cd-dvd
Try unistalling the dvd drive in device manager. Go to my computer click on view system information. Then click on hardware, then click on device manager find your dvd drive then right click and unistall a warning window will popup click ok. Once you unistall it restart the system and windows will find new device and reinstall the device driver. Then check if this fixes the problem. if this dosnt fix the problem try removing the dvd drive from the laptop and reinsert it. Sometimes the connection losses contact with the terminals.
