Question about Canon DR-2050C Path-Through Scanner
I bought a new Canon DR-2050C high speed document scanner as I was told it was compatible with Windows Vista. The package insert states it is compatible with Windows Vista both 32 and 64 bit editions. It states "follow the installation procedure in the manual provided to install the software. When doing the installation, substitute the user terminology and folder names that are appropriate for your operating system." I have tried several times to install the software via the autorun and the separate setup application that is on the CD. Each time the installation stalls after selecting the "typical or custom installation". I have tried both options, and it continues to stall on the screen saying "Now Installing". There are no options to stop, exit or continue so I can only get out of this by using task manager and ending the program. I have let the program run for hours and the hard disk indicator shows no activity after the first few min. I am using Windows Vista 32 bit edition on my Gateway NX860XL laptop. I have not yet attempted to connect the scanner to my laptop as the instructions state that you must install the software first.
