I have had my system for many years and it works great. Recently I have lost sound to my front "right" speaker. The speaker itself works fine if plugged into a different location. Also, all of the controls work fine. Do you know what this may be? Thanks.

Alright i had a chance to look over things, this is how you are going to hook up the sub. first we'll be connecting the surround sound unit to the sub woofer. surround sound unit sub woofer left front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) left speaker level in negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - ->( - ) left speaker level in
right front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) right speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - >( - ) right speaker level in
now that the surround sound unit is connected to the sub woofer you will need to connect the front surround sound speakers to the sub woofer. sub woofer front surround sound speaker left speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) left front speaker left speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - - ->( - ) left front speaker
right speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) right front speaker right speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - ->( - ) right front speaker

THIS RECEIVER IS JUNK. I had the same problem with my receiver and Samsung gave me a new unit as it was under warranty. 8 months later the replacement which was brand new did the same thing. Samsung tells me it is my problem now. I should have demanded another unit. the best advice I have is not to buy this product. Samsung won't help you when it breaks and it will break. Nobody seems to know how to fix it.......
I recommend going to the sound icon on bottom of main screen, right click, go to the properties and settings. Make sure the system is set for the same amount of speakers as you have. You can also use the test button and see if the settings are correct. Make sure you are using the correct audio decoder or ac3 filter
Swap speakers over...check the balance isn't fully to the other channel...swap left/right phono cables over (if thats how your using it) other than that i would say is broke.
Easy way to check speaker cable/speaker... touch a small battery (like used in a remote) across speaker wires, you will hear and see the speaker cone move.
Check to be sure there are no speaker wires touching ground, and that the wires are connected in phase to the head unit.

The symptoms you are relaying definately sound like an internal amplifier problem. It is fading in and out for a reason - usually due to heat.
Have you had the radio bench tested (seperate from the car) to eliminate the car as being the culprit?
Since the radio was run with damaged speakers originally, the output or amplifier power supply on the amplifier may be bad.
As an alternative to repairing, I would suggest investing in a small 2 channel amplifier to power the speakers.
The radios claim 50W per channel, but in reality give 12-15W RMS power.
A dedicated amplifier with built in crossovers and gain adjustments will prolong the life of your speakers and add to the tonal qualities of your new speakers. Instead of turning up the volume on the head Unit, and sending out a distorted signal that will blow your speakers, an amplifier will give more CLEAN power to them, so it will be louder at a lower volume setting.
This will bypass the internal amplifier on the radio, and send a Low Level signal ONLY thru a set of RCA cables.
sounds like you got a bad stereo. it happens. i've i had the same thing happen, but the volume went up instead of down. check all the wires and make SURE they are all hooked up right.
remove the front speakers cables from the rear-remove surround speaker cables from the rear and put them in the place of front speaker-run a music if you get good sound the problem in your front speakers(speaker or its cable)-if you got nothing you will have a problem in your system itself and need to fix in service center.
