Any CD can be simply copied. I use Nero Burning ROM. Using the program - select Copy CD and it will copy any CD (including the security devices). Nero costs money to keep (and obtain the Nero Burning ROM as opposed to Nero Essentials which is available on the Trial ware and will not copy a CD) so you may want to go to a site like this:

http://www.download.com/CD-DVD-Burners/3150-2646_4-0.html

And browse through the downloadable programs - Read the specs as not all of these will simply Copy a CD and not all are free.

Note: It is legal to make a "Backup Copy" of a CD that you own, but it is illegal to make multiple copies of that CD.

With the hp dvd burner 1040r I have, I've burnt hundreds of cds on the same eMac I've had for quite awhile (I think it was made in like '02). One day, my burner just quit burning. It will read and play...

It is hard to believe it lasted this long, sometimes the write laser diode only lasts a couple of years before it dies. You might have to replace the drive.

The drive does not play cds nor dvds. However, it burns both cds and dvds very well. What is wrong here? How do I fix it?

The image receiver is probably bad inside the laser lens. When the laser light emits and reflects back from the disk, the receiver should pick-up the light - in this case it doesn't. It lights up because you can burn. Try another drive - external (USB) or internal (replace the one inside the computer).

How to use the kareoke on the nsx-s90

hi, if you really want your nsx-s90 use the kareoke, nsx-s90 is only a cd player not a MIDI player.. only MIDI player can play just like kareoke.. if your nsx-s90 has a line-in you can buy midi player then connect it to the line-in port... this will play just like a kareoke.. your TV connect it to MIDI.. or the easy way you buy kareoke CD this will automatic play but its only limited song not just like a MIDI player.. thousands of song...

My HP DVD 740 won't recognize blank CDs

Sounds like the lens is dirty. Run a cd cleaner through the drive. That should take care of it.

Burns very slowly and plays back slowly and with interference

Could be a couple of things. 1 the software that works the drive could be playing up, but 2 more likely that the drive itself is on its last legs.
These bare drives are now so cheap that I would just replace it and see what happens when you put the new on in.
You don't have to replace like for like, juts choose one you fancy.

Karaoke CD's will not play on Craig CD+G player

This is a problem with a simple answer. As newer disk technology comes out, newer electronics come out to work with them. Most likely your Kareoke machine is older and not compatible with burnt cds. As long as you are ok with buying regular CD+G disks, you should be fine. If you are interested in making or copying CD+G disks from others, you should consider investing in a new Kareoke machine. As per your question of it being correctable, to my knowlege, No. The electronics in older kareoke machines are not meant to handle CD-Rs or CD-RWs and in order to correct it you would have to somehow frankenstein a new circuit board in somewhere to allow it to handle CD-R/W Disks. As I don't know what is necessary, I am not sure if this is even possible. Like I said if you need this function, you are better of just getting a new Kareoke machine and selling your old one to offset the cost. Make sure the new one handles CD-R and CD-RW disks. Some more expensive ones will also handle Kareoke DVDs as well and have an A/V out so you can display the information on your TV(some of them will even handle DVD-Rs as well). Just look for that information on the box or ask a store representative for that information and they should be able to help you.

Wont burn cds , files , etc

well it could be many reasons why it wont write your burner but first what software you are using for burning. it happens to me before using media player when i try to burn music. the reason was i haven't configure my media player to use my dvd burner for burning because i have dvd burner and a cd burner installed. Now maybe you try to reinstall it using your dvd driver the one which with your dvd burner when you first bought it.

U30274 Burner hangs while writing DVDs

If it were the item you were trying to burn that causes the hanging, in other words a corrupt file, then that maybe the fault, but if it hangs with any other file your trying to burn, either your memory is being used up burning the files or you have a faulty burner, assuming you have tried different makes of dvd disks. Unless you have a dual processor, it's not wise using the pc for anything else at the same time.
