Change convergence board or convergence ICs, test them.

I will see if I find the part, and diagrams . You will need to test the ICs first

Parts are only available from LG If your tv switches color and display colors bands it has probably a problem with convergence, A service repairman should test the ICs on the convergence board on your tv.
If it has been serviced before it is possible that the ICs keep blowing because there is a problem in the power coming to the convergence board, or because the convergence board is defective.
After fixing the convergence problem a convergence setup procedure must be done from service menu.

If the color change but there is no deformation, stripes or bands then is the CRT board.

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!

Screen turning pink

If the pink overlay goes away gradually, you could have weak picture tubes (CRT's) If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection. If you haven't had a good picture to watch for a long time, I would be tempted to put the money towards a new HDTV set as those older Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's had a Lot of bad solder connections in the past, and by fixing one problem another could crop up in the near future.

Picture Fades

It isn't clear if the picture just loses color or the screen goes blank. If you are just losing color (picture goes to B/W) there is a problem in the color circuit and from your description it could easily be a bad solder connection on the board which decodes the color portion of the picture. If you are capable with a soldering iron and know TV HV safety, unplug the set, and remove the circuit boards and inspect (with a high powered magnifier)and resolder all suspect looking connections on the boards. You could also resolder all the connections which is more work but assures that solder joints are not the problem. If your problem is not solved at this point you are probably going to need a technician to look at it as it could be just about anything and probably would be beyond your expertise. Good luck and be safe.
