The tv is a 2001.
it was one my brother & I had bought for my dad for Father's Day. It is currently @ his house. He said if I can get it fixed, since the repairman can't get the part, I could have it.
It turns out that it isn't the CRT itself, but the part connecting to the back of it.

Re: You requested more info on my tv
It sounds that you are talking about the video amplifier board and the other part is called the "yoke". Can you provide me with the exact model and chassis number of your TV to find a part supplier that carries those RCA parts.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

I have ever custom my father's handsome photo in diy oil painting by numeber and he was very happy after receive this unique portrait on father day . You can have a try.
I think it means a lot as this one diy oil painting by numbers, not a finished painting. You need to finish it yourself and your father can feel you heart.

this happened to my family once because my little sister was massing around with the 3d settings.i dont remember the line being green though it was more like a dark greenish gray.what my father did was ask the company the tv was originally made at to send an employee to our house.this may mean that you have to get a new tv.i am not sure if it will be free it depends on the company. ours was the LG 3D tv so i think that LG will replace it for free. but i am only nine and my dad did the work so... i hope this helped.
It is time for you to turn negotiator. Sounds to me like your Dad would like you to spend some quality time doing something else. If you can get your father to compromise on how much time you can spend on the computer each day or to agree to do some other items(chores perhaps?) then perhaps he will let you do facebook for 30 minutes or an hour each day. Your dad sounds like a guy with some computer skills. Some routers will allow a program or website to be blocked for certain hours. He could set the time frame that you could get onto facebook in case you forgot the time. lots of possibilities there but the key is communication with Dad.
