I have a hand-me-down blackberry 7250-when I try to click on my calendar, I get a constant hourglass symbol, as if it is searching. But, I don't know what it is searching for and how I can stop it(?)
Don't reload the OS. There are easier options. When this happened to my pearl I did the following until it worked.
1. Power off then on. No success.
2. Power off with batter out then power on. No success.
3. Deleted extra pictures to clear up some memory. No success.
4. Deleted the Facebook application I installed a couple of days ago. And did a manual restart. No success.
5. Deleted another application that had been installed for about a year but this time let the OS do it's own requested restart to fully uninstall. SUCCESS!!
All along I suspected it was the Facebook application trying to push updates. I deleted memory to clear up space if that was the issue. That wasn't. When I deleted the application I should've let the OS to the requested restart. The only reason I deleted the additional app was so I would get prompted again to do a OS restart.
After restarting, I got a handful of old facebook messages sent to my phone even though the app was no longer there. I deleted the messages but my new problem was that the indicator light was still blinking to show I had new messages even though I didn't. Another power off with battery out finally fixed the whole thing.
It seems like a lot of steps but this was much quicker and easier than reload the OS and losing all my apps.
This is called the hourglass of death,,, you need to relaod the os, but you can't use Desktop manager as the device reboots to often.
Follow these steps and it should fix it.
First make sure the BB is unplugged, then go to Program Files > Common
Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader and run
loader.exe.
Click next, it will say port : COM PORT
1
now is the tricky part you have to plug in the BB and COM 1
will change to PIN: UNKOWN , when this happens you have to quickly click next
before it reboots again, then it will ask for pin and now has an connection with
the device so you can go ahead and re load all the
apps.

Hi, this is called the hourglass of death, the device is stuck in a reboot cycle.
You will need to reload the applications, but you can't use Desktop manager because the device resets and the connection drops.
First make sure the BB is unplugged, then go to Program Files > Common
Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader and run
loader.exe.
Click next, it will say port : COM PORT

Good Luck
Hey JT Tai, I appreciate your post!
The symbol at the top left hand side of your display could be child lock symbol or vent symbol. If it is the child lock you should be able to press and hold the stop/cancel button down for 3 seconds to release the child lock.
If the light is on for the vent I would seek assistance from a professional for proper diagnosis and repair to be completed on your microwave. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
