Strange, the emachines site doesn't even have support information on this model. Are you sure it is the H2642?

Burnsie,

You might try http://www.bios-drivers.com/drivers/206/206079.htm. The Intel_INF_5_0_1_1015.zip applies to the eMachines T2642, and the W2646. Look through the release notes to confirm whether it applies to your machine.

George

Emachine e4264 bios update

There is an updated version of the BIOS for emachine model e4264 that fixes some hardware compatibility issues as well as other things for windows vista.
There is a read file you can download here
As well as the driver here
To install the driver download then follow these steps
1. Use CDRW burning software to Burn Disc Image of the C:\Cabs\4GC3110E\4GC3110E.iso file to a blank CD. 2. After creating the bootable CD, place the CD in the CD/DVD drive, and then restart the computer. 3. At the Menu, select 1 for eMachines BIOS 4GC3110E. The BIOS flash process runs automatically. Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process. 4. When complete, the message "Flashing Complete" flashes. Remove boot media used and press the F1 key. 5. Press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility. 6. In the BIOS Setup Utility, select Load Optimized Defaults, and then press the ENTER key. 7. Press the Y key, and then to select Load Optimized Defaults, press ENTER. 8. In the BIOS Setup Utility, select Save and Exit Setup, and then press ENTER. 9. Press Y, and then press ENTER to Save and EXIT.

Can not find emachine w3115 bios download

There's no reason to flash your BIOS they rarely add enhancements to BIOS's usually just bug fixes. Plus it's dangerous to flash it unless you know exactly what you are doing if you half flash something then it's toast flash is either all or nothing.

I have four sata ports inside my emachine desktop and my bios says not installed

Hi,

If the SATA ports are showing not installed on the BIOS then it can be due to either older BIOS version or the Ports are not detected. I recommend to update the BIOS from the emachines website, please follow the link below:

htttp:\\support.emachines.com

Select the computer model and download the BIOS
It should take care of the issue.

Thanks and regards,

Bios update for t5226... intel update will not work.. some people say it is locked by emachines. i am trying to put an e8400 in it, but i don't think that the processor is supported by the older bios...

It isn't the fact of the BIOS, it's the motherboard chipset.
The eMachines T5226 uses an Intel 945G.

This chipset only supports processors with up to a 1066MHz FSB.

Supporting Data:

1) eMachines T5226 specifications;

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T5226

2) List of Intel Chipsets, and more specifically the Pentium 4/Pentium D/Pentium EE chipsets,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4.2FPentium_D.2FPentium_EE_Chipsets

The Intel 945G is the 12th one down, or last in the list.
Looking across to the right, you can see the Intel processors supported, and the maximum FSB support.
(533/800/1066)

The motherboard's BIOS also won't let you overclock the FSB.

The Intel Core 2 8400 has a 1330MHz FSB,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#.22Wolfdale.22_.2845_nm.29

The Intel 945G also won't support Intel processors with the Wolfdale Core.

I have the same problem with my T3120 emachine.

could be a 'gray market' machine! i've run into this before- basically 'your motherboard/bios' doesn't exist- good luck! boot up should show what your bios version is, look for that, rather than your motherboard version!
'my computer'- 'properties'- should have your bios info on it. use that info to find updated 'flash', if it's available.
good luck!

How do you update your bios?

Go to your manufacturers web site and the proper instructions should be there. Go to the support area and check under BIOS. Be warned, incorrect flashing could render your motherboard useless. If you screw it up, get on eBay and there is a seller on there selling cmos bios chips already flashed for a reasonable price. I have used him....bravo to this guy.

Need large disc support for old emachine, flash bios? or try restore cds?

Hi,
flashing a bios, can render your machine/motherboard useless.
You should always ensure any bios download is from a trusted source. if you experience a power failure, or an incomplete bios file. your computers as good as dead.
Windows 95/98 only supports disk drives to a certain capacity. if you updated to windows 2000/ME/XP your problems may be solved. I,d certainly try that first.
Bios flashing Last resort, even after finding a reliable bios update. also ensure the bios file is 256mb-512mb or equivalent. as this is standard bios file size.
Finally check that your hard-drive does not have a jumper ( Small white/black ) plastic block restricting the drives registered size.
When you install windows XP, it will ask you if you wish to enable LBA ( large block Allocation ) Select Y ( yes )
