Hook up your vcr to you tv. Put tv on ch 3 and turn on tv and vcr and push the tv vcr button until your vcr remote can change channels

On your remote control, find F-SET.

After clicking that, you'll see choices, including TV/CATV ... there are three choices there, you want STD or HRC. That should get you the main cable channels that do not require a box.

I need to block channels, but don't have the access code for the v chip program. my tv is old and I have no idea where my manual is.

Hello
Just enter into this link. You can download the user manual for your Symphonic set. It will guide you how to enter the V-Chip functions.

How do i program my channels

Hello
Your Toshiba tv can be automatically tuned to all stations. The procedure follows.

Programming channels automatically

Your TV can automatically detect all active channels and store them in

its memory. After the TV has stored the channels in its memory automatically,

you can add or erase channels manually.

To add channels automatically:

1. Press MENU, then press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to display the SETUP menu.

2. Press "Up arrow"or "down arrow" until the TV/CABLE

selection is highlighted.

3. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to highlight either

TV or CABLE, depending on which you use.

If you use an antenna, choose TV.

If you use cable, choose CABLE.

4. Press "down arrow" button until the CH PROGRAM selection is highlighted.

5. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to start channel programming. The TV will automatically

cycle through all the TV or Cable channels (depending on which you

selected), and store all active channels in the channel memory.

While the TV is cycling through the channels, the message

"PROGRAMMING NOW-PLEASE WAIT" appears.

6. When channel programming is complete, the message "COMPLETED"

appears.
7. Press CH UP or DOWN button to view the programmed channels.
OK.

Plugged Samsung TXC2516 TV directly to cable:cannot get channels

You do have to program the tv in a different search mode, I just checked online and if you go to google and put in manual for and then your tv model it will give you various options so you can download the manual for your tv, or if you want more specific the link that I found was http://www.servicemanuals.net/ServiceManual/SAMSUNG/TXC2516+CX/pos1/results.aspx

I have an old, jvc 20 inch, c2010 model tv without the remote and I am unable to place channel on 4 so it will be compatible with my digital comcast cable box. Any suggestions?

I hope you are able to get into the menu with the front panel.

when you are in the menu you want to be able to make the auto-programing feature works. The cable box has to be already installed and working. when the tv programming crosses the channel 4 and there is a signal there, pretty sure is going to look it. This is the easiest.
The other solution is the menu sometimes allows you to make programming manual. in manual you are able to search channels one by one and allow it in the memory or not, basically then go to manual programming scroll up or down to find the channel four and use enter (sometimes right arrow in order to change the chanel number from red to green) to record in memory this channel. Once again I hope helps you.

Doesn't get all cable channels

With the menu set to cable signals, the autoprogram should catch all of the cable channels. The Cable Channel option allows you to use either channel 3 or 4 as the "cable" channel. This is when you have an external box that you use to tune in cable rather than the TV directly. The easiest way here is to autoprogram the TV while playing a VCR tape. That will insure that channel 3 is included.

Does the autoprogram fail?

TV channels

Sounds like it lost programing, if it has an "auto program" feature try that, or some older models need it to be done manualy and have a "add/erase" feature, instructions for that should be in your owner's manual.
