You have to check correct fitment, if ok. Check the Lan card is disabled in device manager. check for driver and uninstall the driver first and install latest from manufactuers site.

How to i install drivers for my wireless lan adaptor

Hi,

Welcome to fixya. The best way to install the driver for your wireless adapter is to visit your computer's manufacturer's website and check for the best WLAN driver that you can download.Normally you have to enter the serial number or product number of your computer.

You may also call you computer's manufaturer support number for assistance.

Hope this helps.:)

When i put my d-link dwa-130usb adaptor in my computer it says i need drivers to install the adaptor where do i go so i can download that driver

> Where do I go ....

See: http://www.dlink.com/support/

Enter 'DWA-130' into the input-box just below "Product Support & Downloads",
to find downloads for your D-Link device.

D link 2340 adaptor quit working

It sounds like you have done a bit of troubleshooting and I agree it sounds like a software issue. Have you tried toing to the dlink site for updated drivers? If infact it was a microsoft update then perhaps dlink has addressed the issue at their end.

Can not connect to internet

My first guess is that your Dlink ADSL modem is really a modem router, so you are getting double routing. Sometimes this works just fine, though, so I'm not confident that's the whole explanation.
You'll need to setup your IP plan carefully
set the D-Link modem(router?) to bridging mode & the DLink wireless router does the login to Exetel.
DLink wireless router WAN side: DHCP + login to Exetel
DLink wireless router LAN side: 192.168.0.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
DHCP on: range 192.168.0.10 to .20
DNS Servers: 220.233.0.3, 220.233.0.4
with PC's wireless adaptor set to DHCP
so picks up eg:
IP address: 192.168.0.10
Gateway address: 192.168.0.1
DNS Servers: 220.233.0.3, 220.233.0.4

D-Link DWA-130 running Vista

OK!! I figured it out!! Ok you need to go to the Dlink web site, cursor over to the tech support tab, on the drop down select DOWNLOADS, enter your Dlink wireless adaptor version(you'll need the box for these steps), ok now in the new window click downloads, choose and download the 130 one not the beta version, have a flash usb ready and save all downloaded files to ur usb flash, next insert your usb flash on ur laptop, open my computer select ur removable drive and double click the dlink software, after you do this it should bypass that prompt screen and you'll be able to continue your setup for your Dlink wireless adaptor.........hope it works for you cause it worked for me.....

Verification and signal problems

Hi Sir F,

You don't need to do a re-install of the DLink WiFi adaptor since I believe it is running as it should (as you posted). All that is needed is to configure it to exclusively select only your NetGear WiFi Router. This could be done in the DLInk Wizard (Start/All Programs/DLink.../) set the DLInk to connect only to the SSID of your NetGear. Though it may pick up your neighbors WiFi, the DLink will only acknowledge the presence of the other WiFi but connect only and always to the NetGear.

A couple of other things that may help improve your WiFi connection. Use static IP add in your PC to match that of the NetGear, disable wireless security (WEP or WPA) but rather enable MAC filter and input that of your PC's WiFi Networking Card.

Should you need a more detailed instructions, pls post back the model of your router and the make/model of your PC as well as your OS.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
