Your wireless passcode will be located in your router memory. You must log into your router and visit the link for wireless settings. It should be under security features in wireless settings.

New download of windows 7 won't retain or create internet connectins

Ok, this is conflicting... won't retain or create!! Doesn't it have to be created to retain it?

Did it connect before you downloaded windows 7? Exactly what happens when you try to get on the internet? Do you have the wireless switch on the laptop turned on? Do you see your wireless router? If so did you put the password in correctly? If not, it will never connect.

Trying to hook up 2wire modem to internet provider?

there is a cd-less install or Greenlight technology in it. it will automatically startup once you open a browser, (preferably IE. However, if you don't see it, try pushing the reset button at the back of the unit for 30 sec. open IE, then you will see the installation page.

NOTE: make sure you know what your username and password is... for authentication purpose...

Wpa pass phrase

Although the information you've left is very vague.

I'm assuming you want to know what the WPA passcode is so you can connect to your network to get online Xbox 360?

It will be the wireless password you use to get on the internet with a laptop of sorts. If you have a 2wire gateway/modem its on the bottom of the modem in brackets usually. I'd check to see who setup your wireless router and they'll be able to get you the passcode for your wireless.

Hi there!. unplug the power plug of your 2wire box from the surge protector for 1minute and after 1 min, plug in directly to the wall outlet, not to the surge protector. try to unplug and replug as well the connection on the back of your 2wirebox and check the cable connection from the isp cable to the modem,, the last option that your going to do is to reset the modem of your modem/router but make sure that you know the settings of your modem and wireless settings if u have.. or contact your isp provide for further details..there is a situation that there is a problem from your dsl company connection, most dsl use telephone lines..

How do you connect to the internet on a laptop

I take it you are trying to connect wirelessly. You will first have to make sure your router has its wireless capability turned on. Read the documentation on how to do this. You might find the directions on 2wire.com.
Once you have made sure the router is actually broadcasting its SSID (the network name), you should be able to connect with the laptop. First make sure your laptop wireless connection is active. (You can usually see a little computer in the system tray with some little curved lines like this: )))
Right click on that and choose show available wireless networks. When you find yours, tell it to connect.
This all depends on how you set up your router. If you secured the network with a passcode, you will have to enter that code to connect.

Hope this helps you. You can always ask for clarification if you are having trouble.

Router password code

If you are connecting to your 2wire router wirelessly you need to put int he 10-digit WEP passcode, this would be a 10 digit number on the bottom of the router near the serial number, it is usually in brackets like "[6123234645]" for example.
