We have model MH6150XLB and have had the same problem twice. We replaced the glass after the first incident because the oven worked perfect. I was told by Whirlpool that there was a problem with the glass assembly (glass and film separating or pin hole) and I could order that part and have it replaced. Now the second one is worse than the first. I guess I will buy another brand and have it installed because it is out of warranty and Whirlpool won’t do anything.

SOURCE: Condensation marks on microwave door

For most microwaves the process is pretty straightforward. You can open the door and you will see the screws that hold the outerinside panel on to the glass. After you remove those screws you will see the screws that hold the ouside cover to the door in place. Once you get that far you will see what is holding the glass in place. Keep in mind to replace the gaskets around the glass right and anything you take off to get to the glass itself. If you are getting condensation from range top cooking then the seal around the glass may need to be replaced. You really cannot hurt anything by taking it apart, but it needs to be put back together exactly the way you take it apart. Good luck and hope this helped.

Your glass seal has failed and I doubt it makes sense to replace the door. Yes, it can be dangerous as the moisture becomes worse you risk the chance the glass could over-heat and blow out. Sounds like you need to replace it, sorry!

Door window replacement. can I replace the glass in the door of my microwave.

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to replace the glass in the door of your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV174KFC. Yes, you can replace any glass in your microwave that you choose. However, for safety reasons, I do suggest contacting your local authorized technician for the replacement of the glass. They are trained on your particular, model and will be able to ensure that the door is put back together and installed correctly, alleviating any safety issues. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-
