Start button does not start dryer. All the other buttons light up except for the start/pause button and the stop button. Door is closed when the start button is depressed. No light or other activity is registered.

If the start button blinks and the dryer does not start, it's possible that the pause button may be stuck. Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue:

1. Unplug the dryer: Safety first! Unplug the dryer from the power source before doing any troubleshooting.
2. Check the pause button: Make sure the pause button is not stuck or jammed in any way. Press and release the button several times to see if that helps.
3. Check the door switch: If the pause button is not the issue, check the door switch. Open and close the door several times to ensure that the switch is functioning properly.
4. Check the circuit breaker: Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure that the dryer is getting power. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset it.
5. Call for service: If you have tried all of these steps and the dryer still will not start, it may be time to call for service. A technician will be able to diagnose the issue and provide a solution.

Remember to always put your safety first and unplug the dryer from the power source before performing any troubleshooting.

Before it will start the brain needs to know the door is closed and locked. The door catch is connected to the brain - perhaps they are no longer communicating...

Could be the door switch or temp sensor. To check the door switch put pressure against the door and see if it stops. Check the slot the door hits to see if there is anything loose in there.

check the door switch,i don't work on lg but on any other dryer if the wsitch is broke the dryer won't start and if the light is on the switch shuts off the light and dryer will start.if you send the model number i can look up the switch for you.open the door and look around the frame where the door closes into,there should be a push button switch or a little paddle that the door hits,when you push in on the switch it should make a clicking sound or i've seen the paddle broke off.hope this helps or if you removed any wires to the door switch you might of wired it wrong

Here are a couple of possible reasons it stopped and solutions from the manual.

Adding/removing laundry in standby mode

If you want to add or remove laundry into/from your machine after the drying programme has
started, put the machine into Pause mode by pressing the START/PAUSE/CANCEL button. The
drying process will stop. Open the door at Pause position and close it again after adding or
removing laundry. Press START/PAUSE/CANCEL button to start the programme.

Any laundry added after the drying process was started may cause the already dried clothes in
the machine to intermingle with wet clothes and the result will be wet laundry after the drying
process is over.
It is not recommended to add laundry after the programme is started as it will increase the
programme time and energy consumption.

Childproof lock

There is a childproof lock to prevent any programme interruption due to the pressing of keys
while the programme is on. The loading door and all keys except the ON/OFF key on the panel are
deactivated when the childproof lock is active.
In order to activate the childproof lock, press on the StARt/PAUSe/CANCel and BUzzeR CANCel
buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

To start a new programme after the programme is over or to interrupt the
programme, the childproof lock should be deactivated.
To deactivate the childproof lock, press the same buttons for 3 seconds.

Two beeps will sound when the childproof lock is activated. A single beep
will sound when the lock is deactivated.

I was able to view the manual by a Google search and the third item on the Google search list was the manual, but it would only come up by selecting "quick view", otherwise it would crash the Acrobat reader plugin.

Inspect the front door lock if "F22" is displayed. Press the "Pause/Cancel" button two times. Close the washer door firmly to latch the door. Remove clothing preventing the door from closing and latching. Press the "Power" button, followed by the "Start" button.

try unplugging- let sit for an hour- and plug back in

Check door strikes, door switch and belt. Dryer won't work if the belt is broken or it doesn't sense the door closed.

Both sound like the user interface. Impossible to troubleshoot except by replacing the (expensive) part to see if condition improves.
