Iam unable to find a wireless radio switch on my E5400 DEll laptop

If you look at the very front of your computer you will see a switch on the left hand side of the bottom part (not the screen part) of your case. There is also a small led light beside it, as well as an indicator led that is beside the rest of the indicators that are just above your keys. Sliding the switch to the right should turn on your wireless card. In case you do not have you quick setup manual handy you can get a copy at the following website:

On the front bezel just to the left of the headphone jack is a Wireless switch/indicator. Slide the switch left or right to toggle - the LED should illuminate when wireless is on. The manual is available at http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Aspire3680/Aspire3680nv.shtml

Vaio VGN-NS328 funtion key to turn on the wireless internet

Your laptop uses a wireless "Switch" located on the front edge of the laptop on the far left side. There will be an led indicator light to the right of the switch itself. Move the switch to the right to activate the wireless radio. Move the switch to the left to de-activate. Below is the link to the user manual for your laptop. It is in PDF format, so you will need Adobe reader to open it. I am also giving you a picture below of the front edge of your system.

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/VGNNS300_series.pdf

How do I turn on the WiFi adapter for my Acer Aspire 5516?

The wireless networking feature on the notebook can be enabled by moving the switch that is located on the front of the notebook to the right. Once the switch has been moved the wireless networking icon will appear on the screen indicating that it has been enabled.
The switch will reset back to its original position once it has been moved, this does not indicate that the wireless has been turned off.

2 laptops - one connects to internet - other doesn't.

Theres a little slide on (or flip) switch to turn on your wireless. It can also be slide (or switch) off to turn off. Its usually located in the lower right front and sometimes its on the side depending on the model of your laptop. Theres usually a quick reference guide that comes with the laptop and that will show you where the USB ports are at, serial ports, AC jack, audio jack, CD Rom, and specifically where your wireless switch is located. There will also be a light ( blue or green indicating its on ) so once its on it can pick up wireless router signals, hence allows you internet access.
