Question about Nintendo DS Console
The lines appeared when I was trying to fix a problem with my Lite's L-button. I had a look, cleared any dust off, and closed it up. When I turn it on, there are black lines allover the screen. Or at least, that''s what it looks like. It's affecting the bottom screen too, as the bottom screen's flickering a little too, but thescreen's still clear. The odd thing is, closing the Lite and opening it will cause the top screen to become clear for a split second, and then gets covered with lines. It's not a major problem (most of my games use either the bottom screen or aren't too heavily burdened but the top screen) but I want to know if it's fixable, and how much it'll cost to fix. Any help appreciated.
I found a REALLY easy solution! the most likley problem is that there is dust in the GBA/DS game card slot! it corrupts the connectors (i dont want 2 explain how it gets into the system) so step one: wrap a small peice of tissue around the stylus(make sure DS is turned ON)
step two: LIGHTLY go inside the GBA/DS slot with the tissue wrapped stylus.
step three: shut down DS system and turn on again
problem solved! hope this helps.

You might need a new screen (ebay) or check the connecters......it might be in wrong..

You have probably just disrupted the connector for the top screen, this would explain the black lines. This would also affect the bottom screen if two connectors were wrongly aligned causing power to flow through the wrong connectors. The screen being ok for a couple of seconds after you open the lid i cannot be sure why it does that but when i acquired a broken Ds the screen did that but then I replaced the ribbon cable and it was fine. You can buy the parts you would need (screwdriver and ribbon cable) from: www.consoleparts4u.co.uk
Hope this helps
