It may be the component board or tuner its hard to say ,without seeing it ,how do you have it attatched to your tv ,if it is just a coaxial cable try composites or component cables ,it may just be a simple thng, your dish box is the tuner so i would start with different cable types

I purchased a component cable (rectangular plug I think called VGA plugs into female left side laptop toward the back and red, blue and green RCA type jacks for LG TV.

Look for a Function Key (fn) on your laptop for activating the VGA external monitor.

If your fn button is blue (for example) all of the keys on your laptop that are activated when you hold down the fn button will have an option in blue. Look for a blue icon on a key that roughly looks like a monitor or two monitors.

With everything hooked up, press and hold the fn key, then tap the corresponding key to turn on the external monitor.

Having said that... the cable you are describing has a VGA (blue 15 pin connector) that plugs onto the VGA jack of your laptop and splits that signal into a set of component RCA plugs. Its critical how you plug these into the correct place on your LG TV component connections. I know such adapter cables exist but I've never seen one work.

My sanyo 42 inch plasma has a blue screen, i can hear the sound on the tv but screen remains blue. can u help please

Be sure your channel settings are correct and that you have proper orientation of the hook up cables. See if your remote has a video-mute if so turn it off...a video-mute will produce a blue or black screen. To be sure its not the tuner that's enter the menu screen if you can see the menu then the tuner is ok this means the down-stream video is functioning. Be sure to have all your input devices set to the correct output ports. If all check good and still blue screen then the logic section is not processing video codecs and needs servicing.

Blue menu screen stays on

Hi! the blue menu screen can be turned off by pressing the same button that caused it to appear. In most cases pressing the "Menu" button on the remote or TV-control will make the blue menu screen disappear..

I hope this helps!

TV turned off itself

Can you still turn it on?
If so, does it stay on with sound?

If the sound is ok and the picture is blue (even when changing channels, inputs, etc.) the lamp may have gone out.

Can you see the TV menu when you press the menu button on the remote or TV?

Can not get the image back on my astar hdtv when I choose the option

First check Tv menu comes on screen?
Connect DVD Player at any a-v input and confirm picture on tv. This will confirm that tv has no problem except in tuning circuit.

Now check Antenna / cable hooked up in RF input of tv properly.
Perform Auto-Search / Auto-Tuning / Auto-channel on TV menu and tune all available channels.
Still blue screen? means TV Tuner looks bad.

Rca 52 in rear projection... start up menu always on

The setup menu will repeat until it is completed and/or something is hooked up.

On my TV it kept reoccurring until I connected up the wire from the roof antenna, even though I had cable already installed.

Check your manual for setup instructions or if you do not have one, Google the make, model number and "owners manual" to see one online.

Hope this helps. :)
