Question about Televison & Video
I just moved, and when I plugged the TV in and turned it on, I can hear audio, but no video. I can change channels just fine, just no picture. Does it need to be repaired? It is about 9 years old.
If the set is taking a long time to start, most likely something is failing. In this particular model, as the CRT ages and becomes weak, the set will be slow at starting. The electron-gun emission must reach specific emission specs before the AKG circuits allow it to be biased on.
Also with age, the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply and various drive circuits tend to go off value, and or become thermo sensitive.
You may want to start considering to invest in to a new TV set very soon.
