Started dishwasher and went to the store....when I got back, water in the bottom of unit and no power at all.

Same here no power and the water is just sitting there at the bottom of the machine

  • anda bagga Nov 23, 2008

Normally the cycle is very quiet (as you all know) and this was just
going to bed and didn't notice there was NO sound coming from the
machine. I wake up to open the door and the DW had a pool of soapy
water at the bottom and couldn't operate the control panel.

no power on panel. Water in bottom from last load...appears it didn't drain completely. Fuse panel is good.

no power or lights on control panel. water is in the bottom of the unit.

  • flyingfish76 Jan 05, 2009

Same thing with me! all lights and power dead. Water left in bottom... All power leading to the machine is good.? Did anyone get a repair or an answer?

  • MLT807 Jan 12, 2009

The dishwasher ran fine this morning, but tonight no power/no lights and some water in the bottom. This happened a few years ago while still under full warranty. Repairman came and "rebooted" it and has been running fine until now.

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2009

    no power

  • Anonymous Feb 07, 2009

The company might say there is no problem, this is how we make money!  If we are all having this same problem, why do we have to get a repairman to 'reboot?  Why can't you fix it for good, or show me how to 'reboot' the darn thing myself?

They just want to sell warrantees!

    This is outrageous!
    It's a scam.
Otherwise, they would have answered this complaint by now!!!

This has happened a few times with mine. Turns out, it was a loose ground wire. Here's how to check it: Remove bottom panel (4 screws). In the front(bottom) on the right side there is the electrical connection box. Remove the top screw of the cover and the cover will drop down. There is a screw directly in front on the back of the box. That is the ground connection. Red wire for mine. The screw on mine would only go half way in. Therefore the ground wire was loose causing it to loose power. I replaced with a better screw and it powered back on instantly. Make sure you shut off the breaker before doing this. Good Luck.

Drain pump goes ON when ON-OFF button is pressed, even if the know selector is in OFF position and the machine is dry. There is no fault codes and the dishwasher complete the washing cycle OK, but when...

Seems that the drain pump circuit in the main program controller unit power and keeps on as there is no logic feedback to cut off the power. It can be that the drain is clogged and so the water level detect keeps sensing due to a fault. check the sensors , check the drain filters , check the machine LEVEL so that the water drains clearly to the drain pump.

The dishwasher will not drain properly

It is a common fault that the drain fails to work in most machines in a period of time and is the most problematic fault in a dish-washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

Maytag quiet series 200 will not drain water. Looks like the drain pump has bit the biscuit.

Usually there must be a filter screen in the dishwasher which can cause this to happen. It goes to the drain . If there is accumulation of food particles in the dishwasher filter screen then draining may be obstructed which can cause the water to be stranded at the bottom.

Usually the filter is located at the back of the dishwasher near the drain. It is usually held in position by means of clips. You can just pop it out.Pour some hot water in the drain and clean the drain line also.

If after cleaning this filter also you are facing the problem of water not draining then the drain pump must have gone bad.

Can i use vinegar to clean it

Hi, In a word, yes. Just make sure it's "white vinegar". In fact I recommend it a couple of times a year. The key to a "vinegar bath" is to select a "normal" cycle with "no heat" amd no "heated dry" and either place a bowl of white vinegar on the bottom rack or add a cup or two to the tub after about 6-7 minutes after starting the cycle. Either method insures the vinegar doesn't get drained out after the pre-wash. Yes you can use vinegar...just not bleach. Hope that answer's your question. Thanks for visitng "fixya" for your inquiry. Please take a second to rate the info I provided here. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Kenmore Dishwasher won't drain

If you opened and closed the door and it started, that sounds like a bad, door switch in the console.

But you did hear a hum sound when it tryed to drain, it could be the drain solenoid, or the motor/pump assembly.

Take off the bottom access and look at the solenoid when it starts to drain, the piston in the solenoid should move freely, up and down with the white drain flapper that it connects to.

Also check for bad wiring connections at the power junction box where the power hooks up to it under the dishwasher, i have seen the wire nuts either come loose or burn off due to loose connections.

Dishwasher Problem

Tuesday, start with the siphon break on the sink, if you have one. These will gunk up and prevent the drain. If the drain and hose are clear, remove the bottom panel and you will see the drain pump (WD26X10016) on the left side of the wash motor. Verify you have power going to it during drain. If you have the power check the flapper valve (WD01X10178) and the check valve (WD01X10176) that attach to the pump inlet. If you do not have power to the pump during drain, then you have a board issue. back.

Dishwasher isn't draining

It could be the pump, but not only. Check first that you don't have any clog in the drain line. If drain line is clean, open machine's rear panel and : - Look if the pump works. If it doesn't work check that pump get power (with multi-meter). In case it get power (and does't work), it should be replaced. - In case the pump works - The machine has a drain valve with an electric solenoid (the drain pipe connected to it). When it get power the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain line. Test that it get power. In case it get power and dosen't work - You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new valve. Good luck !
