First, the obvious: make sure your game supports wireless play and read the instruction manual for details on how that works.

Then, the less obvious: the DS is only able to handle unsecured or WEP wireless security protocols, so either make sure your router is using WEP or leave it unsecured (WPA does NOT work!). Also make sure your router is not set to exclude any MAC addresses. If you need to know how to do these things, look up the manual for your router or find a more general tutorial on wireless hub settings.

Nintendo also has a very comprehensive guide on routers: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/index.jsp

If all else fails, call Nintendo's customer service... they are actually VERY nice and helpful.

My Nintendo ds lite is not compatible with the BT WiFi, how do I solve this?

The ways you can solve this are either buy the official Nintendo wireless adapter or change your wireless encryption to WEP. Thanks for using FixYa!

I would like to know what an ssid is as i am trying to connect a ds to the internet, i have the wep key

Hello,
the SSID is the name of a wireless network so it is easier to recognize. If you want to make things easy for you to connect to your wireless home network to access the internet with your DS Lite, go to your router configuration. Make sure that the SSID is set to be broadcast or visible. Make the SSID an easy name that you will remember, yet that is not too personal since everyone will be able to see it.
Then start your Nintendo DS and go to the wireless connection configuration. It will start looking for broadcast SSID and will eventually find the one of your network and list it. Select it, enter the WEP when prompted and save the connection.
You should be able to enjoy your internet connection from the DS after that.
Let me know if you encounter any issue.
Regards,

Trying to play a game with wifi connection. It

Try using the Nintendo DS at different locations that have either wi-fi or a friends house that has a wireless router.

If your DS doesn't work at a few different locations then that means your built-in wireless card in the DS is bad.

There is also different things you can try as well according to Nintendo, here is a link to there page as well:

I GO TO NINTENDO WIFI.COM AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CLICK ON TO GET MY DS LITE'S WIRELESS CONNECTION CODE FOR WIFI PLAY ON POKE'MON PEARL VERSION!!!!

Usually when you connect to Wifi, you automatically get a connection code. You do not usually need a code to connect... Something may be wrong with your DS's connection.

Does anyone know if you can connect ds to internet using a mobile dongle?

for internet with the ds, u dont plug anything in its all wireless. the '3' dongle gives u wireless internet which is good. to set up internet on your ds, put in a wifi compatible game, and wherever in that game there is an option for NINTENDO WFC CONNECTION (it may change, in mario kart the option is on a main screen, animal crossing talk to ppl) go into that and tap a blank internet connection box and search for an access point. when its found ur 3 internet itll connect. u can now play internet games on ur ds when ur neer that access point. hope i helped

Ive got a 40gb ps3 and a bt home hub wireless router how do i connect ps3 to computer ps ps3 is upstairs and pc downstairs

look on the back of your home hub. there should be a Wireless Key in a Grey box. (BT Home Hub wireless settings)

note the wireless key.

go to your ps3. and turn it on log on ect. go to settings and down to network settings (right at bottom).

(Im not sure of the next section because im currently on a network but it should be an option to find network).

anyway you search for networks. should find your home hub.

keep going right untill you have to enter any settings. and write your WEP Key (Not WKA). (wireless key from back of router).
