Question about ASUS EN8800GTX/HTDP GeForce 8800GTX, (768 MB) PCI Express Graphic Card

1 Answer

Card the 8800GT TOP is faster than yours (in some benchmarks!) Anyway, do you have problems with it running FEAR and CRYSIS? Please try these games and see if it reboots, do a graohic card optimum settings detect and see if it runs. I have set all my Nvidia control panel settings to default (let application decide etc) and still the same thing, ohter titles work fine and really fast.

I have tried FEAR, no problems at full tilt settings.. Using the control panel settings to default may not always be the best solution. Check your 1st question thread for some additional solutions I provided.. I think it may be a heat issue.

I will try fear again, now that I have the latest Nvidia drivers, and see if anything happens.. I'll keep you posted on that one.

Error in play crysis 2 unsupported videos card

It looks like your card is below the minimum requirements for this game. You will need a faster (newer) card to run this game. It's not surprising, as many of these shooters have very high system requirements, and your 3-4 year old card probably wouldn't cut it even if it did work.

The good news is that a new card will run it faster and look better. Since your old card is PCIE 2.0 compatible, make sure that your new one is also 2.0 compatible. (Unless you know for sure that the mainboard supports PCIE 2.1) PCIE 2.0 cards will work on 2.1 mainboards, but the opposite is not true.

What drivers will Crysis 2 could work? because I have an ATI Radeon HD 5450 but it says unsupported video-card etc. ; what would I do?

The Radeon HD 5450runs Crysis 2 well.

Just because the game manufacturer states that they have not specifically certified the game to run on your card does NOT mean that the game won't run.

Now that we know for sure the game will run with your video card, if there are issues running it we can look in to other possible causes.

Which gpu is better?

The video card is a joke, strictly for office use. Get a GTS 250 , it's an very upgraded form of 9600GT. 8800GT is far too old and weak for newer games.

My monitor has no input signal when i plug it on my xfx 8800gt alphadog. i've been using it for almost 5 mos, then all of a sudden, when i start my PC my mmonitor is ok but after 3-5 minutes it says no...

your card is probably overheating. the alphadog editon has an extremly small cooling for the gpu. try cleaning it with a caned air spray and check the NVIDIA control panel to see the temp. of the GPU if the problem is solved try running a game benchmark to see if that works.

depending on what "SF" (which ever game that may be) requires you may want to make sure that if you are a windows user then to make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your video card and make sure you have sufficient amount of ram installed as well as video card requirements on your computer. most games these days games require a good hand full of resources such as call of duty 4? or crysis? half life 2, fear, any MMORPG games etc so make sure your computer has enough resources to run this game you speak of and make sure your not tying up other usefull resources on background applications you are running by either closing them or bringing task manager up and closing them that way (personaly i prefer task manager because it shows you what and which apps are using all your resources) make sure also that your DX (Direct X) is the most up to date (dumb comment but you would be amazed on how many users complain because they say everything is up to date but later to see that they have direct x 9 ver "B" installed rather then version "C" so please make sure drivers, software, game updates (if available) DX9 update and requirements such as ram, video card, video card ram are even suffient enough for that game to run smooth

My laptop freezes when i try to play games

Does your system meets the minimum requirements for those game? If yes and if you don't play games and your system hangs too, do you get a blue screen with error codes on it? (e.g. 0x0000000E), if so it could possibly be a possible driver conflict and/or a hardware problem. Try running this at a command prompt, if your on vista run it as administrator (start > all programs > accessories > command prompt > right click > run as administrator), then on the black box, type /sfc scannow. Works on XP/Vista. It should fix any corrupt system files. Try also updating the drivers for your video card and try running Everest, a free diagnostic & benchmark tool, you can find it here.

Hope this helps.
