This is a copy of the post on your premium solution thread.

According to Singer guidelines , if there is only red blinking light, then there is an fault inside the machine, unless it reset disconnecting from power.
If there is an error code with format EM-01 - EM-09 tell me which error you get and I should find a fix.
Here is a complete user guide, check pages 90-92 for common errors.
If you have no error message, and light does not go out with power disconnect then it may be a faulty control board.
In this case I suggest doing a last attempt removing all threads, and reset design unplug from power 10/15 mins.

Let me know if you still have the problem.

Starting to sew basic stitch

You need to know how to thread the upper thread, wind thread onto a bobbin, and install the bobbin in the machine.

Be sure to lower the presser foot onto the fabric you are going to stitch.

Then press on the foot control pedal (like a gas pedal in a car). The harder you press, the faster it will stitch.

There are a lot of web sites and videos available. But, you should probably read the machine's manual.

After I "undid" winding my bobbin, the electronic display still showed the symbol for winding bobbin and the machine will only sew straight. None of the other buttons like back stitch or change stitches...

are you sure you've moved the bobbin winding mechanism back to the right spot? if its still pushed over against the bobbin spool holder it may be stopping the normal functions from working. If that isn't the problem then it may be something for the tech at the Elna dealers.

Drop in bobbin on singer 6234 will not thread empty Bobbiin thread winds around underside od bobbin

try using a different bobbin and see if that helps, if it doesn't
then the machine may need to be checked to see if there is
something wrong with the hook and the hook race.

Won't sew with foot dog down and using the freehand embroidery foot

Won't sew can mean more than one thing - the machine has no power or is seized up; the needle is not going up and down; the needle and bobbin are not forming a stitch.

When the feed dogs are down, you move the fabric by hand.

The presser foot has to be down to stitch.

If you wound a bobbin before you starting the sewing, did you disengage the bobbin winding feature(s)?

I was doing fine zigzag, ran out of bobbin thread did not change any thing and now the thread bunches on the bottom and the machine does not advance. Bobbin casing pop up also this is a 774 model

Hi there,

Well The most probable cause of the lower thread breaking is an improperly wound bobbin. Regardless of where you wind the bobbin, inside the machine, on the top of the hand wheel or on the front side near the hand wheel, the basic "bobbin" rules apply.

** Always start with an empty bobbin. Never wind one color over another color.
** Don't wind the bobbin so full that it would be tight and hard to insert into the bobbin case. Most machines have an automatic "shut off" when the bobbin gets full, but if yours does not, be careful not to fill it too full.
** Wind the bobbin evenly across and in level layers.
** Never mix different sizes of thread in the bobbin and on the spool, unless you're doing sewing machine embroidery or some specialty type of sewing. Using different weights of thread on the spool and in the bobbin for general sewing will cause ragged stitches as well as other stitching problems.
So clean all the threads and do it work from start.........
Please reply ......
Thanks

Needle is moving when bobbin is winding & lights are flashing

Check the clutch at the knob on the right side of the machine, where you tighten it to sew & loosen it to wind a bobbin. It could be very loose and when you start to wind a bobbin, it tightens itself up.

Singer 7442 will not sew

Had the same problem as mommyb2 - it was the bobbin spindel was in the wrong position. Push bobbin spindel to the left and it works for sewing.
Have the same problem winding my first bobbin - pushed spindel to the right to engage bobbin fuction and the machine locks up and wont wind the bobbin. Irig did you bring it in for repair? I'm thinking its broke - which **** as mine is a brand new machine
