Have you tried re-setting your player? There is a small hole at the left hand side below the on/off swithc. Push piece of paper clip wire in the hole and see if the player sorts itself out.

good luck

Why won't my computer recognize my sandisk player.....i just plugged in the usb cable directly in the computer....but it's not being recognized.

Hello,

For the Sans e260, see the e200 series support site on "not recognized":
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/266/kw/recognize/r_id/101834

Solution 1 RESETTING THE DEVICE
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

When RESETTING the player did NOT help

Solution 2
GOING TO MSC or RECOVERY MODE and next UPDATE FIRMWARE

STEP 1 GOING TO MSC MODE or RECOVERY MODE
For e200v1/e200R (Recovery mode only): Connecting in Recovery mode
For e200v2 (Force MSC mode only): Enabling MSC mode

Check your firmware, see the differences on next link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/193/related/1/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkL0NqNGJpNVBq

STEP 2 FIRMWARE REINSTALLATION OR UPDATE
ALL DATA ON THE PLAYER will be ERASED !

Method 1: Automatic, using the Sansa Firmware Updater

Method 2: Manual, downloading firmware from the Sansa Forum
For e200 series version 1 and 2 to the Forum e200 thread
For e200 series version Rhapsody to the Forum e200R thread

Hello... i have a problem with my muvo 5gb.. i don't know what happened but when i turn it on its entered in the recovery mode.. i have already tried every option in that mode but nothings happened and its...

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Stuck in recovery mode and firmware problems

My Creative Zen mp3 player is stuck on Recovery mode , and keeps on saying filmware problem. I have tried to reset, push power button down and push play button at the same time. I also tried Clean-Up Format and reload filmware.

Nothing has worked, and I am about to throw it out the window.

Please if you can help me.

Thank You

Hello,

Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Recovery Mode

I agree, use the Reload Firmware tool on recovery mode and then upgrade the firmware from the website. If you get "firmware failed!", then try it from a different computer.

hi alot of people have been having this problem what you need to do is put the mp3 player in recovery mode ill tell you how to do this in a minute ok.
But what you need to do first is go to the sandisk site nad download the latest firmware for your mp3 player now when you have put your mp3 player into recovery mode and downloaded the firmware when you select the firmware from your computer once its been downloaded it will talk you through the process of reinstalling the firmware.
So the best thing to do first is goto their site and download the latest firmware ok once you have done this then follow these instructions to put your mp3 into recovery mode this is how you do this ok only do this once you have the firmware downloaded to your computer.
1. with mp3 off push lock switch to lock position
2. hold down rec button on left hand side keep held down
3. whilst holding rec button down press on button untill it comes on.
It should now say recovery mode now try installing the latest firmware this should now have solved your problem if not let me know then i can assist you further ok
