GR-DV2000 lens housing broken

posted by chabarang on Apr 12, 2008

Hi,
I have a GR-DV2000. The housing assembly on the focus ring seems to be partially broken. One side of it is loose, but the other side seems to be attached by some sort of clip. I can't figure out how to take it apart to find the exact problem or re-fasten the loose part. I have researched the repair manual, but there is no explanation about disassembly.
Can you help?
Regards,
Rob

Associated problems:

  1. The lens cover seems to delay opening on startup.
  2. When I use manual focus, the zoom suddenly changes on me at random times.
  3. The inned parts are exposed and in danger of dust and excessive moisture.
  4. Clumsy to use and inconsistent when focusing manually.

This Problem has been added to the Share Your Expertise Page under "My Work Queue".
