Question about Sony Ericsson P990i Cellular Phone
My name's Constantine and I am facing a lot of problems with my P990i. Previously I had problems with installing applications on my phone and one of the experts advised me to upgrade the PC suite and also run the Sonyericsson update service(Which has helped me to a great extent and I am able to download apps now, I really thank Raysagem for the help). While I was running the update service it asked me to back the phone data as everything will be erased from the phone and it would be set to factory defaults. I backed up the data and its was successful and I also have the restore point in the backup manager in the PC suite, but when I try to restore the data it just doesn't happen. The wizard says that the restore was successful and it also reboots my phone during the process but phone stays off with a message on it which says "Restore in progress" and it goes on till eternity. I switched on my phone after the above said steps were done and nothing was restored on my phone. I have lost a lot of information and I am in a very bad situation. I request someone to please advise me on this and I'll ever remain grateful to him/her.

SOURCE: p990i touch screen problem
I encountered the same problem but was able to fix it. Just don't know if it's just temporary. Go to tools, control panel, other, set up wizard, tap yes, tap the second button before cancel, keep on clicking to the right direction until the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 appears. Tap the center of each number until blinking stops, save settings. For the first few steps you may use the jog dial found on the left side of the phone if the touch screen does not follow your tappings.
