The first step is to go into your volume control panel and check to be sure that the microphone fader is not muted and is turned up. Also, what application are you attempting to talk to someone with -- telphone, IM chat, game chat?

How to install a microphone in my computer for skype use?

The pink input jack is the microphone jack on most computers. The jack has 3 contacts on it One is for the microphone, one is ground and the third one is for the voltage applied to the microphone circuits. Easiest way is to get a headphone with a microphone on it . That way you won't get a squeal out of your speakers or an echo when using Skype.

The problem seems to be with your friend's setup, and possibly yours. Try adjusting mic levels and volume levels to where they don't interfere with each other. Ex.--you talk , they hear you at a volume that is too loud and it gets into their mic, creating a loop....feedback. You do the same too. Trial and error. Hope this is helpful.

you need to replace the voice coil. it is already grounded, that is the one inside the mic ball (where you speak or sing). it is not repairable so you need to purchase a new voice coil
