One of the goodman condensing unit for my house starts good every thing works fine, but it runs OK for couple of hours and by then the refrigerant line connecting the unit condenses and it will not blow cool air. I have to turn it off, may be for couple of hours and start again and it works Ok till the copper line gets condensed and problem repeats.

The refrigerant line is actually supposed to condensate, but if you mean "freeze up", thats a problem. The condensation occurs because the line temp is lower than the outside temp, kinda like a soda can outside. From what you described, Im pretty sure you are either over or under charged on refrigerant. The reason it will not come back on for a couple of hours is because the compressor is in "protection" mode and has to cool down before coming back on. When you are low or high on refrigerant, the compressor has to work harder which over heats and trips the internal overload switch. Have the unit charged properly and you shouldn't have a problem.

This is return air filter dirty or air not flowing over the evaporator coil do to dirt an debris. Also the reason could be low on refrigerant! Connect hoses only as a last resort once air flow is checked out!

Subzero 611 freezer not cooling

Could be but before that check if settings are working. Set the freezer settings to coolest and see if cools. If ok, set to desired temp.

Have ice build up on line leading into outside unit and ice buidup on inside units on my goodman air conditioner

Turn the system off on the thermostat and set the fan to "ON", this will thaw the ice faster if it hasn't already. When the system has completely thawed, which could take hours sometimes, depending on how bad it's frozen, then turn system back to "Cool" and start these checks>

1. Make sure filters are clean!
2. Make sure there is proper airflow through vents.
3. Make sure outside condenser fan motor is running.

If you have either no or minimal airflow, check the indoor blower to make sure it's working, if it is, the evaporator coil is dirty restricting the airflow. Be sure the system is thawed because the ice will also block the airflow!

If the condenser fan motor is not running, either the capacitor or the fan motor will need to be replaced.

If your filters are clean, you have good airflow through the house, and everything comes on like it should, it will most likely be the charge of refrigerant in the system is too low and you have a leak somewhere. If you have to have it charged, be sure the system is thawed before the technician gets there, he will not be able to do anything while it's froze.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Kenmore elite refrigerator no longer cooling

Try moving it out so that you can get to the back of it. You have power as the lights work. Here are a couple of things to check. There is a fan motor with a blade on the shaft. Turn the temp. control down so unit will cycle on. See if this condenser fan motor is running. If not, it has burn out. If it is running, check to see if you can hear the compressor pot running, You will be able to hear it come on when you turn the control down to colder. Please don't turn the control up and down, as this will cause the compressor to short cycle and lock out on overload. Wait about 5 Min. between moving control knob. If compressor doesn't run, it could be the start relay, or you have lost the compressor. There are many things that can go wrong, but these are just a couple you can check out yourself. Condenser fan motor you can replace yourself. I hope this gives you a place to start.

Good Luck, Sincerely, shastakaker7

ps Always unplug unit before replacing any parts.

New Goodman condenser unit run almost contiously using too much e

I'm not sure of the kilowatts. The 10 min on and 5 off is telling me there is to much heat by the thermostat or you house needs more insulation. The new compressor is designed for more efficient run time. The other thing is the unit to big for your house? It should run 10 -15 min when low humidity is in the house. Otherwise longer if its pretty warm inside.

Bad bearings on the motor or check the fan rotations . Air should always blow out the top and **** in through the sides or coils.!... Thank-you-very-much!
