I was trying to adjust the brighness on this monitor using the dial. When I pushed the recall and the recall 9300k temp the screen went totally dark to where I could not read the dial menu. Had to keep turning it and pressing in the dark until I got a faint view of the menu. How can I get it back to the default settings. Afraid to touch anything for fear it will go dark again. What are the default settings.

Re: AOC spectrum 7 Glr ?
Initially, I would suggest that you do a full reset, that is unplug the monitor from the mains and the PC for a couple of hours (preferably overnight). The idea is that the monitor will reset itself to default factory settings. Thereafter try again.
Should problem persist, pls post back.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

The only way possible i believe that that model aoc. is to use what we call a break out cable, this is a cable used to attach vga on one end and component or rca on the other end, the only issue is that the aoc 912sw has no audio outputs so what ever source you wanted to use to push the image on your tv must also have audio and external speakers must be used. here is a link to a breakout cable break out
You do not need the driver for the monitor if you are running XP, if you are running Windows 7 you will need the driver so you can adjust the resolution to the native resolution of the monitor.
Lack of driver for the monitor will not cause the black out problem.
You should try this monitor with another PC first to make sure it is not video card problem in the PC.
Is this monitor still under warranty.
You may wish to try this (my model AOC g2016wa2) 1. push MENU button 2. scroll to Advanced 3. push MENU button 4. scroll to Factory recall 5. push MENU button It resets the power button locked setting but you lose all other settings.
Hello all.I had 2 AOC monitors with this kind of problem also and figured out the problem with this kind of monitor. All you have to do is to unscrew the monitor and get the control control switch buttons on its circuit board. There are four switch button that control the monitor with four pins each that attaches to the circuit board of AOC, another option is to replace the switch button with a brand new control switch button which can be bought to your local electronic shop. Now i had no problem with my AOC monitor because i literally removed those switch control buttons from its circuit board.
