I cannot get raw download from my 4gb card - it downloads some strange format I cant open - thanks in antic Terry

uploaded my 40D pictures from my new Lexar 8G to my MAC...all of the vertical pictures can be seen and look terrific but when I open nothing is there, then a black sccreen with ! in bold white...Any suggestions what could be causing this. Just got the camera back from repair but seem the auto focus is having problems too again...flash is poping up a bright sunny day... Any suggestions?

MasterAre you using Photoshop or Photoshop elements? Most other imaging programs will not open raw files.
