How about colored pages? this normally means that the head is already busted. Unfortunately you will need to take this to cannon to get the heads fixed.

Try a deep clean, sounds like a blockage but odd all at once. it could be possible that cartriges are a faulty batch, ive experienced many times but not all at once. hope this helped jay.
I'm afraid that most printers nowadays simply refuse to print unless you have ink in BOTH cartridges. No workaround. At least with an Epson you have the possiblily of buying much less expensive generic refills...If you do this always try and find reviews of the brand of refills...caveat emptor! (buyer beware)
Remove the printer from control panel, under installed printers, then unplug the usb cable and reinstall the printer drivers using printer cd, or download from canon support website.
Does the printer attempt to print? Did you replace the black or colored ink? If it was the black ink will it print in color? If it prints in color, check the black ink cartridge for tape residue on the gold contacts. The blue tape will sometimes leave the adhesive on the cartridge and not the tape. It cleans off easy with a soft cloth.
installed a new Print-Head, but that was no changes. I use refill ink, and it seams the BlackInkTank is not exactly on the Printhead and it is Air in the Pipe, i take the Printhead and the Ink-Cardridge in the Bathroom, and press the Ink-cardrige on the Printhead and take a hard breath and blow in the Air-Holes of the Ink-Cardrige until black ink come out of the Printhead, reinstall in the Printer, end it works well.
