hi johnny, ive had 3 replies to this question all stating a different board. i dont want to get the parts as i have to buy them all and it states non returnable. 1 of them is a faulty power unit and the other is a control board.would like a total agreement before i buy parts as it would be expensive to buy them all,do u know any places i could buy in the uk and return if it isnt the problem?

hi ginko, ive had another reply to this question stating a different board. i dont want to get the parts as i have to buy them all and it states non returnable.1 says it is a faulty signal board because of bad signal, but i have perfect picture when i turn it on,this is why it keeps going in to power saver feature.would like a total agreement before i buy parts as it would be expensive to buy them all,do u know any places i could buy in the uk and return if it isnt the problem?

If the set don't have signal for so long it turns itself off. "power saver feature" Check all connections or replace cables, If that don't work the signal board may be going bad.

It is probably the power unit , change power board, also shorts, and bad connection or a faulty contrl board can create similar probelm.

If it is a S board problem you usually have no start at all, or no picture, or noise / disturbed picture (bands across screen etc.).
You can test the power board measuring voltage out from it for a sufficient interval, there may be a discharge right before the tv turns down or a voltage too high.
It can also be an overheating problem, and a thermistore on one of the boards turning off the tv. To check this leave TV set open and on with a fan blowing on it, if it takes more time to turn off, then it is a overheating problem
This operations above must be performed with live power on apparatus, therefore they involve danger for you and risk for your device. Unless you have technical service background I recommend to contact a repairmen.
I do not have schematics for your model, otherwise I could be more precise on what you need to test (eg: look for thermistore on audio board etc.) . If I get more inf I will post it here.

    Regards

If it is a temperature problem your operating temperature renge should be between 32 ~ 104°F (0 ~ 40°C)
Regarding reseller, If it is a Ysus or Zsus board (I think this is the "signal board" reffered from other expert , since there is no part called just signal board in plasma tv) , the cheapest option is usually buying them on Ebay (£120/150) . The fastest way to test a Y or Zsus board is replacing it. If you test components on the board for continuity, when is fauty, you sometimes find a faulty capacitor. I do not think is Ysus Zsus, if you find a returnable replacement, this are very easy to replace, so that you can test it.
Regarding other spares you will probably need to ask to LG or to http://www.4myLG.co.uk">LG Genuine Spares (UK).

Actually there may be a signal board on your tv . It is a small board containg just the video input slot and few components, on LG that is the signal board. In any case I am convinced the other expert was refferring to Ysus Zsus board.
It is better if you get a copy of the service manual, if you want to DIY your tv.
Here you can buy the service manual
    Here is user manual

If I have more information on your case I will post here

Let me also know if your unit has an external power adapter, in this case you can just test using an universal power adapter. If the power adapter is external the cause is more likely to be overheating.
In sporadic cases faulty control board can cause sudden shut down. If it shuts down always after approxim. the same time, than is probably overheating.

I got a etec tv the thing is the when i turn it on the ligth will show the is on but no picture what can i do

Sounds like it is on standby due to no video signal detected, i would check your cables and ensure damage has not occurred to them, also if that does not do the trick replace the cables another option is to change your video input, example hdmi, dvi, svideo ect.
