posted by slkjdf on Apr 12, 2008

My parent's panasonic rear projection tv, is starting to have pink and blue spots apear on the screen. Is there anyway to get those to go away, and to prevent them from coming back?
I have the same problem.

I have many different color spots on the panasonic tv. I have heard about taking a drill and running it backwards by the tv to fix the polarity. I have not tried this yet, just wanted to get some other opinions first.

Move anything magnetic or any sound producing electronics away from you television. This includes stereo speakers or alarm clocks. Give your TV 30min. to 1hr. to cooldown completely and see if that fixes your problem.

The light engine may be dirty with dust, the polarizer filter burned, or the LCD elements burned.

As a last-ditch effort, the light engine can be taken apart and carefully cleaned using compressed air.
