I ve brought lenovo y500 series laptop which has matshita dvd-ram uj-85js drive ,,now the problem is that wen ever i try to burn the cd it shows some progress at the initial stage but after 5 of 10 percent of burning it shows buring failed ,,,,, can u plz z help me out

It's just faulty hardware. Lenovo put a bad DVD hardware in this model. I'm having the same problem too. I can't find any replacement drives, either... they don't make it no more. Just get an external DVD drive.
do you have a error message in the device manager or why do you need the drivers? all cd dvd drives work just by plugging them into the computer aslong as your windows is working properly they don't come with drivers.
take a screw driver and at the back side of lap top you'll a screw through which you can detach your dvd drive from your lenovo laptop if you have bike or car I used my car just put it on road and crush it I did same
First of all you try to burn the cd with a valid cd burner, uninstall the already existing cd writer and try to install again.
In case of laptop you can try the company's own cd burner.
Else... The main problem occurs when the seating of the driver is not proper.
You can remove the driver yourself if you are comfortable with or else you have to give to the authorised service center to remove and reseat the driver again....
